Within the framework of the NOR-WATER Network and the BlueWWater project, and in collaboration with PT PROTECMA, the Spanish Water Technology Platform (PTEA) and SENTIATECH, the webinar entitled “Management of Pharmaceutical Residues in Hospital Effluents: Challenges, Impacts on Aquatic Ecosystems and Treatment Technologies” has been organised.
This event will take place online on 17 June 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. (GMT+2, Brussels/Madrid time). Its objective is to provide a comprehensive overview of hospital effluent management from scientific and technological perspectives, identifying the associated risks and impacts on aquatic ecosystems and analysing innovative solutions and treatment technologies that contribute to a safer and more sustainable management of these effluents.
The event will bring together experts, companies, technology centres and public authorities to exchange experiences and foster synergies that promote new opportunities for public–private collaboration.
Objectives:
- Characterise hospital effluents.
- Assess risks and impacts on the environment and aquatic organisms.
- Analyse treatment solutions and technologies for this type of effluent.
- Identify challenges, knowledge gaps and research needs.
