BlueWWater

INTECMAR has extensive experience in studying the environment and coastal resources, as well as in combating marine pollution. INTECMAR serves as the official agency of the autonomous administration of Galicia, responsible for monitoring of the quality of the marine environment and implementing the regulations related to the technical-health control of sea products.

INTECMAR’S chemical contamination department has vast experience in monitoring priority organic pollutants (polychlorinated biphenyls, polychlorinated dibenzo dioxins and furans, organochlorinated pesticides, and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons). Likewise, it is also involved in developing and implementing analytical methodologies for the determination of compounds in samples of marine origin.

Over the last decade their efforts have also focused on studying contaminants of emerging concern, mainly additives of plastic materials as chlorinated paraffins, bisphenols ad ftalates.
